since the 5th of february he was in his 74th year born at speyside the son of george and janet mickie he moved with his parents to knatchbull near acton and there received his schooling with the death of his mother and father in 1936 mr mickie became a glen williams resident living at the home of mr and mrs joe hoare mrs hoare is a second cousin for seventeen years mr mickie was employed at glen very suddenly at his home 173 brentwood road north to ronto on sunday april 12th ha was fifty five years ot age he was born the son of the late alice bullivant and matthew beaumont and lived in glen williams and georgetown until 1937 when he moved to toronto he attended glen williams public school and the ontario agricultural college at guolph where he obtained the dairy superintendents certificate while in georgetown mr beau mont was employed at saxe cream exy and when going to toronto in 1937 was employed as plant superintendent by the purity bairy dundas street in novem ber 1954 when that dauty chang ed hands and continued in busi ness under the name of greenvale dairy he continued as plant superintendent for a period of time in october of 1955 he join ed the staff of uplands dairy on mount pleasant road as assistant plant superintendent remaining there until his sudden death he was a member of st albans church glen williams a mem ber of orion odd fellows lodge and the georgetown fire brigade during the second world war he sened in toronto as a member of the auxiliary police organiz ation and the st john ambulance assoc he enjoyed bowling and was a member of the roscland bowling club he also spent a great deal of his spare time at his hobby gardening on august 30th 1941 he mam ed edna neil in renfrew prcsby terian church who survives him surviving also are brothers and sisters rupert of georgetown jack of toronto mrs peter gor man ruth streetsvillc delmar melvin and matthew junior of georgetown two brothers how ard and clarence predeceased him rev flying up ceremonies on monday evening april 13th four brownies of the 4th george town pack received their wings at a flying up ceremony in the prcs btenan church the pack under the leadership of brown owl mrs ce harley formed their fairy ring at one end of the hall while the 1st guide company under the leadership of captain mrs ralph ursel and jr lieut carole lane formed the horseshoe at the other end of the hall the brown owl performed the ceremony and presented wings to patsy cock peggy maxim bremja iboc and debbie wright which they will wear on their girl guide uniform each brownie passed through a gate to guideland wearing a pair of golden- wings where they were greeted by two guides forming a seat with their hands the guides whisked her around the outside of the horseshoe and then inside where she was welcomed by the captain t four brownies also enrolled were jeanettc riggs janet mar tm jennifer inglis and marion whan rev alex calder spoke briefly on the brownie law and promise the girl guide commisioner mrs e c reed of norval also gave an interesting talk on guide work after a campfire of songs bj the brownies and guides cookies and tea provided by the brownies mothers auxiliary were served the fly up closed with the brow prayer girl guide prayer and guide taps parents and friends of the pack were invited to see the ceremonies on friday evening april 17th three brownies received their wings at a flying up cercmonj with the 4th georgetown pack and the 3rd company o girl guides under the leadership of captain mrs cannell in the united church the fairy ring was formed at one end of the hall with the guide horseshoe at the other end the brown owl pres wings to pat bowman elaine barker nd gail walsh which will be worn on their guide uniform each brow nie passed through a gate to guideland wearing a pair of gol den wings where they were met j by the company leader barbar kinrade who skipped with them around the horseshoe and inside where they were
