men in this town we have one of the finest ambulance services in the country and it does not hac enough men to operate it without making the willing workers do extra shirts double runs etc to keep it going there is no good reason whv many of you men cannot get off your comfortable chairs for long enough to answer a call if needed to perhaps save a life might even be one of your own relatives to keep this ambulance service in proper operation it has already saved many lives and can continue to do so if you fellows who are too busy making excuses would onlj call ed hall the captain and offer your ser vices you need not be a first aider but need onlj the afailil to dnvc and or the willingness to stay by your telephone for a pofi- tod of 12 hours 6am to 6pm or 6 p m to 6 a m as you choose nine times out of ten you will never be called on to go on a run but on the tenth time you might be instrumental in saving a life surely that should be worth some consideration our firemen go to a great deal of inconvenience to protect our homes and this they do voluntarily without thought of reward save the satisfaction of having served their community surel it is not asking too much to have the rest of you listen to a telephone and get up and go when the need arises id hall the captain can be reached at triangle 73273 cec davidson farm safety quiz in c n e programme announcements have
