councillors express ung alanm that georgetown might tee a trailer camp established within the town council on mon day rushed preparation of a by law which would regulate trailer camps the by law patterned on one in effect in the town of mil ton will be discussed further next monday the subject was introduced by mayor armstrong after a ratepay er eric wallace 146 prince ciar les drive had enquired about a news item he had seen in a dailv newspaper concerning possibility of a trailer camp in esquesing township the milton blaw the mayor said seemed to deal with problems which might be encoun tered in town and he read the doc ument which precludes trailers be ing- used asdwllmgplacesxcept in certain specified instances such as one when a family is living m one temporarily while building his own home cr fred harrison was out ppoken in his opposition to a camp claiming that they do not pay their way taxwise while not opposing the by law cr em hyde seemed undecided whether he would fully support a trailer ban its a modern wav of life he said im not going to ije quoted as for or against it but i m not in favour of just turning thumbs down on trailers reeve sargent said that to a point he agreed with mr hde and that if trailers were properly regulated and taxed they might be all right i can see trailer camps in re sort areas but not here was cr anne curnes opinion deputy reeve walter gray said that he had visited a fine trailer camp in the south but had learn ed from adjoining property own erf that the camp tended to de preciate property values no mat ter how well it was operated cr harrison pointed out that education arid sanitation are two major municipal costs today we ve been arguing about a housing subdivision paving its way he said and now w ere discussing
