voungsttrs play ins at the age of five the have strong backing and both good floored arenas and outside bowls i think our boys did ver well they never gave up trying i would like to lake this op portunity to give you a sum mary of this clubs origination and activities for this season it was first started rolling when a group of men from georgetown interested in the sport itself and also liking to work with the bos decided to have a mcitiiiu at this mm ting an executive was elected and things started to rol at the second meeting we realized we had no money to surt with a collection was taken up am ong the members themselves this gave them balls to tct started sticks and goal equip ment were obtained f om the oaa these sticks were sold to the boys for s3 apujte and with this money more sticks were bought the arena was obtain ed for 5 a itht and wt used it two nights a week the non ey for this rent is in the bank awaiting our bill a set of 20 regulation lacrosse shoulder pads were bought tor the boys after this expense we deel ded to move to the leu where mr joe easun donated the we of the cushion ne erected last year thanks joe some work was needed to oe done so once again all hands chipped in this time with hammer and nails mid season a draw was held to raise funds a set of newl sweaters were obtained for the dixie tournament 1 would also like here to thank the cana dian legion branch 120 for the use of sweaters for a couple of exhibition games although this column has ap pcared at different times under community centre headings i would like it known we are an independent club known as the georgetown minor lacrosse club and are neither affiliated with nor responsble to an oth i er organization it is hoped next year the club will expand and organize from juvenile down to novice a lot more help will be requir ed in coaching etc so please watch for an announcement to be made ot the first meeting in early spring having had the privilege of serving as
