lan home builders when he coo ferred last wednesday with on ario minister of planning and dev elopment w m nickle and mem hers of his department vice president of the national home builders association mr heslop led a delegation to the mm ister of planning development to present resolutions passed by the ontano regional housing con ference held earlier this year at ottawa with the minister they met community planning officials of his department who concurred with the home builders that a na tional bui ding code would improve the standard of community plan mrg and subdivision development if municipalities across the country would adopt it lmr heslop pointed out to the minister that adoption of the nat ional building code would reduce construction costs present codes are most onerous and tend to re quire over design of structural members he said at the same time those municipalities which have inferior codes would improve their standard of construction as it relates to structural safety health and fire hazards the urban development insti tute a part of the national home builders association are now pre paring a brief for the minister which will detail the points
