various types of help they may receive the north halloo association for retarded children reports thaf ble at the hospitals for par- a comparatively new service has been atlckd for the policy hold ers of ontario hospital service insurance covering dental cae tor patients with cerebral pal iy and mentally retarded children these children pres ent a special problem to den tists because of cithe their in ability to stay still or lack of understanding of what is re quired of them in the dentists chair f r the ontario hospital serv ices commission has therefore isied a statement to all pub lic general hospitals stating that effective june 1 i960 hospital benefits will be pro vided for patients with cerebral palsy and mentally retarded children for general dentistry and extractions for whatever period is indicated there arc special forms avail cnts to ill in if by any chance the hospital does not have these forms the doctor or dentist may present a letter to that hospital requesting the dental treatment required this is a very fine service to be covered by the ontario insur ance as some families have had tremendous problems in securing proper dental care for these handicapped children lnfortunately not too many hospitals as yet have dental equipment included as stand ard procedure but it is hoped that hospital boards will real lie the importance of this equip ment in accident victim john larkman a native of norfolk england died sudden ly as he result of an accident on tuesday december 27th in his eighty first year mr lark man came to canada in 1812 and he and his
