anyone who has visited the hospital must wvc been tm pressed by the wonderful dis play we have each year in the various seasons from early in the spring- until late autumn tfiis floral display would not be possible of course if it were not for the efforts ofour gardener mr john scnenk who certainly spends countless hours working on the grounds without the material to plant however his efforts would be severely curtailed and so we owe a large vote of thanks to dominion seed for their trem endous gift early in november mr schcnk tells us that he plan ted the following bulbs all do nated by dominion seed 1000 ins species 1 000 muscari 2500 crocus 2 000 chionodoxa lucilha 400 daffodils of seve ral varieties 750 carnival tul ips 250 peacock tulips 200 black parrot tulips 500 lily flowered tulips 350 turkensta nlca 250 marjoletti 250 kauf maniana 700 scilla sibirtca 500 crocus golden goblet 400 crocus snowstorm 500 snow drops 1 000 ins reticulata 750 muscari another item also replaced by the company were two of our golden jumpers this very impressive donation will certainly add to the- attrac bvfn55 of our grounds and certainly the cost of this type of planting would be far above anything the board could con template so to mr vannattcr the gen eral manager of dominion seed and all associated wtth the com pany may we say thank you with the holiday season over occupancy once more is start ing to mount many patients were discharged fov christmas and of course there were ma ny who waited until after the holiday season monday night council au thorlxed the town solicitor to close the deal for the cedarvale school property right away however they refused to share the 3268 cost of maintaining the property for the year of 1965 as the owners the united church had suggested the solicitor f a helson pointed out to council that the deal was originally- supposed to be closed in january 1065 and the owner felt the cost of hold ing the property should be shared they also asked for some adjustment on he unpaid taxes for 1665 amounting to 2 000 mr helson expressed the6pinion that an adjustment of the taxes should be made since the taxes would not have accrued to the town if the deal had been closed strange as far as the sharing of the maintenance cost f a helson described it is a matter of horse trading brothers and three auteif pour sisters and brother survive mrs angus lawson 001a urs boy choata flossie mrs wil 11am osburn charlotte mrs alf marshall annie and wu iiarn mcdowell bev norman young minister the mayor pointed out thatot limehouse presbyterian it was clearly understood that the property could not belong to the town until all approvals were given so he did not feel the town should share the cost of the years operation mr smith agreed saying we only got om3 approval in the middle of december 65 in attempting to find out if the town s offer had blocked the sale to other potential buyers coun hyde asked the solicitor u the property had ever been put up for tender not to my knowledge replied the lawyer then the united church could have sold to someone else if they had the opportunity concluded coun hyde the motion to authorize the
