sunday the meeting fol lowed an evensong service the rev d eric mills who suc ceeded the revd john mcmul kin ii december was chairman lor the meeting and the vestry officially welcomed him and his family by motion an induc tion service is planned this sunday morning when bishop w e bagnall will officiate the church ended its year with a small surplus which will form the nucleus of an emerg ency and building fund this years budget includes 5400 for missions while a special et fort to support the primate s world relief fund will be made by using lenten envel highlights of reports present ed by church organization in eluded an faster mission for children a series of gospel stu dies conducted by the rev d john hcmulkin in the spring painting the kitchen and instal labon of a new floor in the clubroom and portable parti t ions for the church school jack armstrong ted gorth and murray henley were elect ed delegates to synod with paul armstrong and bob boc land as alternates grant johns ton continues as chairman of sidesmen mrs james costigan as envelope secretary tom parry and jim costigan as church school superintendents mr and mrs wallace thomp son as auditors and mrs jcen ewles as secretary legion odd fellows plan cemetery cairn by ralph hawaa the inclement weather which smote this district during the last few days of last week play ed havoc with the activities and functions of the branch on thursday evening the monthly general meeting was cancelled as there was an in sufficient number of members present to form a quorum but we feel that on such an even ing there was an excuse for the weather was terrible erecting cairn however the executive dccid ed at a brief meeting which was called after the general meet ing was cancelled to go ahead and co sponsor along with the independent order of odd fellows and the rebekahs a cairn which is to be erected at the entrance of georgetown cemetery this will be in way of a centennial project of both organizations the cairn is to be unveiled on sunday june 11th the unveiling will be preceded by a parade the cairn will have two plaques bearing the names of the two organization sponsoring pomp for robbie olin williams remodel
