eotnmanity groups the mayor and council past mayors asso ciation and the holders of dec orations awarded for bravery during canada s wars the hall was tastefully arranged by the w a of the legion for the ev ettinf one hundred and five invited guests were present for after a social hour dlnnr was announced with god the queen followed by grace a very excellent meal was itr ved by ladles of the auxiliary chairman of the evening lcs clark welcomed the guests on behalf of their hosts branch 120 and then introduced the bead table district comman der david capperauld president ralph hawes guest speaker j t armstrong padre rev kel vm johnston and mayor jos eph gibbons he paid special tribute to the final head table guest dave bowman the chair man for veterans week and one who had done such a terrific job hr bowman was at the dinner in another capacity as well as ic was a military med al winner and three times men tioned in despatches the chairman then explained the reasons for the dinner and why the group present wer there he hoped that many of those present would take the advantage of meeting each olh er after dinner the gallantry 4ward win ners were then asked to stand and special mention was made of georgetown s two world war n nursing sisters both present who had received their awards from the king at buckingham palace among the decorations represented there were ihe
