for fire prevention bur winners in the 1968 fire pre vention scrapbook competition of the national fire protection association have just been an nounced and once again the halton fire prevention bureau has been awarded a special recognition certificate for an outstanding countywide fire prevention campaign two other county fire agen cies one in renfrew county and one covering leeds and gren ville areas were also awarded certificates in the 1068 contest there were 284 canadian com munities and 224 from the unit ed states in the 42nd annual nfpa competition the halton bureau comprises firefighters from the countys fire departments and others in terested in fire prevention who meet monthly in milton to plan and carry out fire safety camp aigns across the county this years scrapbook compiled by the public relations committee totalled 218 pages and included samples of press releases and clippings photos literature radio scripts and minutes of bureau meetings oakville fire department one of the bureaus members also won a major award in the contest this year the oakville scrapbook was judged first for all of ontario in the contest for municipalities with a population
