halton county board ot education found it more econ omical to shift the boundaries and as a result the pupils from chapel street and park public schools who will be in grades seven and eight next year will be attending stewarttown sen ior public school it doesnt just end there the grade sev en pupils now attending stew arttown sps who reside in es- quesing from the north coun ty line south on the seventh line to highway 7 west to ac ton will be shifted to an acton public school why cant these pupils be allowed to complete grade eight at stewarttown ra ther than be reverted to the kp to grade eight system the board claims hat these changes have been given care ful consideration in view of the existing facilities and in a real effort to provide the best op portunity for all the children in our area this cant really be directed at the people who live in the area mentioned ab ove we are going to be depriv ed of the more superior stewart town school and i for one stren uously object to this change i object to the fact that my youn ger daughter now attending iimehouse jr school will prob ably not be able to attend stew- artown when she reaches grade seven but object more so to the fact that my older daughter will be unable to finish her final year there it is evident that some of us are being lost in the shuffle while this collection of over paid muddleheads try to tell us that they are concerned about alrmhe children while making motions about economizing i know only too well about the overcrowding of chapel street and park public schools and realize that the situation can no longer continue but i do wonder how the two acton public schools will be able to accommodate 170 additional pupils who formerly attended limehouse stewarttown and speyside schools actons popu lation is increasing also and i can only conclude that when the acton schools are bulging at the seams the way some of the georgetown schools are now that once again our chil ren will be juggled around the board says that boundaries will shift as the nature of pop ulation changes as density in creases or decreases c and as i facilities are most readily av i ailable it would not be difficult to prophesy that my younger daughter will run the gamut of the schools between george town and acton i am tired of reading in the toronto papers how the rural children are going to be benef i ited by regional school boards before this larger board came into being our children were taught in first rate schools and we did well without the halton county school boards high- priced administration yours
