georgetown high school helped answer some of the questions plaguing teachers since the formation of the new- board the questions submitted by teachers prior to the meeting were presented by panellists mrs verna parcie of george town district high school and doug magwpod of chapel st school representing the board were assistant director of ed ucation ds lawless super intendent of instruction o a gilmore and area superintend ent e s lavender the role of supervision the role of coordinators and con sultant pupilteaoher ratio audiovisual equipment the pro fessional development fund subject council and communi cations seemed to be the sub jects uppermost m the minds of the teachers o a gilmore pointed out that supervision of staff is onlv a small part of the assistant su perintendents duties he would assist beginning teacher and carry out inspections for the is suing of permanent certificates the school principal will now play a larger role in supervis ion he stated in answer to a question from mrs darcie regarding the role of the department heads m m spection mr gilmore stressed that department heads are there simply to improve instruction t and are in no sense inspectors on
