mrs ed mclean says snow ploughing helped ruin boulevards 5 hewson cresc dear mr editor i was pleased to read your editorial entitled litter litter everywhere which appeared in the may 29th issue of the herald and agree wholeheart edly with your comments about the litter around the town i am pleased to see the new trash cans placed on main street however i think the town councillors have more to do than placing trash cans and arranging a clean up day the day following your edit onal friday may 30 at 3 p m garbage was standing in front of at least one store on main street surely the town should demand the main st garbage be collected the first thing in the morning on garbage day and no store allowed to put any out until that morning then i have a beer about boulevards last summer fwing st was paved and the boulc vards were sodded i am surf- each and everv homeowner did his part to see that the grass nurtured then winter came the snow plough came along and piled snow and refuse not only on the boulevards but on the sidewalk as well as the snow disappeared the boulevards were scraped con sequently now the boulevards are masses of dead grass or barr earth i feel sure no one would neglect them if the town did its part but it u a waste of time and money to fertilize water and tend when the snow i plough undoes all your effort either the town should have emplovccs respect the boulcv ards around the town or aband on the making of boulevards as of now it s a wasted effort all around i thank you for allowing me this space marguerite l taylor do you know when you should
