Student employment centre closing soon The Canada Employment Centre for Students in Geor- getown will be closing their doors on Friday, Aug. 16. In a recent press release, the staff at the centre thanked alllocal students and employ- ers who helped make this summer a successful one. "Despite a dismal labour market, this year's statistics show that the success rate in finding students summer employment has been over- whelming," said the release. "This is due primarily to the willingness of local home- owners and employers to hire students, as well as the ef- forts made by the staff of the Georgetown Centre over the past three months." Students are encouraged to continue to visit the centre until the closing date to en- sure that all jobs are filled.
