12 THE GEORGETOWN GEMINI WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 1996 Halton Hills Village Homes (HHVH) officials willbe invited to meet with the mayor to discuss de- lays with their proposed plaza on the corner of Mountainview and Argyll Roads in Georgetown South. Ward 4 Councillor Ron Chatten requested Mayor Marilyn Serjeantson's help because HHVH "don't seem to be co-op- erating" in beginning con- struction. "You could cut down on an awful lot of the traf- fic going back and forth Mayor's intervention requested in dispute on Mountainview [if the plaza was open]," Chatten said, adding there are peo- ple ready to rent the stores. "I know we have no clout, but if the mayor could call a meeting we could begin to meet the people's needs there," Chatten said, suggesting in the future the Town do what Brampton does -- in- sist that facilities like pla- zas be built when a certain number of houses are built inalarge development, not when the subdivision is complete. -- Niblock Perplexing car thieves stump cops Halton Regional Police, along with their colleagues in Woodstock, were left scratching their heads trying to figure out what reason some car thieves had when they absconded with several cars between Georgetown and Woodstock.
