"He told me [it might close] because it was a small school," Beth Anne said, wip- ing away her tears. "That's not a very nice thing to say." Not very nice, but neces- sary Williams said as the Board looks at saving $2 mil- lion in operating costs by closing eight to 12 schools, including possibly Limehouse P.S. or Glen Williams P.S. Along with the tears there was anger from Glen Williams parents, who got a rude awakening when Board consultant Steven Lichty said even with vacant Wrigglesworth P.S. and Speyside P.S. pupil places tions, either Glen Williams or Limehouse would have to close if the Board voted to meet its highest school utili- zation rate of 95 per cent. "You' ve been stringing us along about what might hap- pento our schools," a visibil- ity upset Glen School Coun- cil Chair Dona Wenzel. "Until tonight all the re- ports said that closing one of the schools was an option. Now you tell us that yes, one will close. This is a farce," Wenzel said. (Georgetown woman dies in Milton accident Halton Regional Police report that 79-year-old Lilian Bumford of Baylor Crescent, Georgetown was killed in a car accident Sunday in Milton. According to police, Ms. Bumford died after being taken from the scene of the accident to Milton District Hospital where she died a short time later. Investigators have determined that the accident resulted when a southbound vehicle on Guelph Line had slowed to turn left onto Steeles Avenue. The vehicle behind it stopped, however, a third southbound vehicle pulled out around the stopped vehicle and hit the turning vehicle. The struck vehicle was spun around and entered the ditch, ejecting Ms. Bumford from the TO THE RESCUE!
