(Jamie Harrison photo) Raiders bounced in pair of weekend bouts BY KYLE GOODLET The Georgetown Gemini The Georgetown Chrysler Raiders' record took a beat- ing this weekend as they lost two home gamesto Brampton and Bramalea. Friday night's heart breaker saw the locals nearly kill off 11 straight minutes in penalties in the first frame. Only one power play goal eluded Yellowknife native Carl Rosignol after Andrew Peters and Ryan Odette re- ceived game misconducts for fighting and third man in in- fractions. The Raiders headed to the dressing room down 2- 0 after one. Adrienne Venneau opened scoring in the second with assists from Curtis Carr and Captain Duke Bouskill, mak- ing it 2-1. Bouskill leveled the score later in the period with help from his buddies Carr and Venneau. : Blueliner Brian Buchanan found himself ejected from the game following fighting and instigator penalties late in the second, leaving the Raiders with a two-man de- fensive core. With 18 seconds left in the third and the Raiders up 4-3 on goals from Andrew Sand- ziuk and Garry McNiven, Bramptontied things up with the extra attacker on. Forcing OT, the Capitals wenton towin 5-4, out shoot- ing the Raiders 42-18 on the night. Without Odette, Peters and Buchanan on Saturday, the Raiders fell 9-3 to the Bramalea Blues. Local players Ryan Booth and Steve Gibbons helped out in this game that went from bad to worse as Rosignol and Carr both left the game due to in- Jury. Coach and GM Rick Bince is pleased with the fact that while his team currently lacks savvy, they are not giving up in the late going when they are down. After losing two defensemento suspension this weekend, Bince has decided to look for some help onthe blue line. Join- ing the Raiders on Mon- day this week were Mark Henry, a 6'2" right- handed defensemanalong with three other skaters Bince hopes to add to his defensive raster.
