Thomas Stokes picked up a hat trick in the Raiders first game against the Winter Hawks as they hammered Blue Fins The Georgetown-based Halton Hills Blue Fins com- petitive swim club is once again playing host to clubs from all over south-central Ontario. The event is the club's annual swim meet, Nov. 30, from 8 am to 5 pm, at the Georgetown Indoor Pool. According to organizers, over 200 swimmers -- from 8- to 20-years-old -- will be participating in this one-day competition of skill and speed. The youngsters will include swimmers from the Blue Fins, as wellas the Acton Aqua Ducks and the Milton Marlins. Training these young peo- ple for competition is the re- sponsibility of new head coach Michael Zuraw. Sup- porting him are assistant coaches Paul Carter, Rachel Bodig, Laurie Crocker and Kathy Dugas. Milton 6-1. On Saturday the two teams met again with the same out- come a 3-0 Raiders win. Mike Davison was the of- fensive hero with two goals, with Velten scoring the third Raider goal on a breakaway set up by Oulds. Goalie Kevin Bokowski host meet at GDHS The Blue Fins are in the pool between five and seven hours a week, learning the four basic competitive strokes: freestyle, butterfly, breast stroke and back stroke.
