(Jamie Harrison photo) Santa visits Moore Place students BY JAMIE HARRISON The Georgetown Gemini Obviously drawn by the strains of young voices caroling in his honour, Santa Claus made a surprise visit to Joseph Gibbons School, Sunday afternoon, to take ina Christ- mas concert hosted by Moore Place Day Care. Toddlers and pre-schoolers sang seasonal standards such as Oh Christmas Tree, Frosty the Snowman, Silent Night and Jingle Bells, mixing in contemporary favourites such as Shake Your Sillies Out, and Head and Shoul- ders. Midway through the concert there was a rumour that a portly, bearded gentleman was having trouble parking his vehicle in the lot, as Gibbons School lacks the posts formerly used to tie up horses. Moments later, the gentleman, clad in crimson and clutching an over-stuffed sack burst into the gymnasium to the delighted squeals to the Day Care students. As one might expect, Claus' sack was full of presents for the young singers and he passed them out accordingly, while accept- ing a multitude of hugs from the singers. After the concert, Santa left, readying him- self for the long trip back up north. He is due in the area again next week.
