A ceremony will be held at 10 am in the atrium of the shared facility at the Halton Regional Centre at 1151 Bronte Rd., Oakville. Dur- ing this holiday season of special need and giving, Halton Women's Place and the Halton Regional Police Service are also appealing to the community for their con- tinued, generous support. Donations for Halton Wom- en's Place will be accepted at all Halton Regional Police offices on Thursday. The Georgetown office is at 11 Division, 217 Guelph St. The "For A Safer Com- munity Day" festivities be- gin with a selection of songs performed by the Heritage Glen School Choir. A proc- lamation declaring Dec. 19 as Halton Women's Place "For A Safer Community Day" will then be read by Regional Chair Joyce Savoline, followed by com- ments from Chief of Police Peter Campbell and Halton Women's Place Executive Director Theresa Greer as well as a representative from the Halton Business Advi- sory Committee.
