The team jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead againsta never say die Brampton squad, and settled for a 5-3 win after a AA novice Raiders keep on battling The AA Major Novice Raid- ers dropped a tight defensive battle to the visiting Brampton Maroons 1-0 re- cently despite the strong goaltending by Jordan White. The team played strong defensive hockey in front of him led by Michael Clarizio, Ryan Torres, Corey Colarassi and Kevin Greer, however they were unable to put the puck in the net. A visiting Burlington team then came to town and were able to earn a point after ty- ing the game with less than a minute to go in the third pe- riod. Michael Carter and Alex Ingrangaro scored first pe- riod goals for Georgetown as the teams went to the locker room tie after one. Burling- ton then came out fast in the second period opening up a two goal lead, which stood until the third period. Corey Curtlen, Ingrangaroand Kyle Oliver scored third period goals to give the Raiders the lead until late in the game. Despite the strong goaltending by Dylan Malchin in the last few min- utes Burlington persevered and tied the game. shaky third period. Brett Reynolds, Peter Bailey, Michael Clost, Ryan Putnam and Jeff Bayley each con- tributed with a goal and an assist. Michael LaRose (2) and Raymond Martin also added assists. In the week's closest con- test, the Raiders edged their Milton rivals 3-2. Chris Dar- ling had two goals with Bayley adding the third. They continued their winning ways THE GEORGETOWN GEMINI Novice Raiders unbeaten in nine straight games with a decisive 4-1 victory over Burlington in their final game of the week. Alex Bulgarelli continued his fine showing in the net with many good saves for the Raiders. Martin, LaRose, Darling and Greg Heywood all found the back of the net. The Raiders unbeaten streak extends their record to 14-4-5 in Tri-County action. Fitzwhiskeys battles opponents and flu A gritty group of Charley Fitzwhiskeys crippled by the flu bug came away from St. Catharines on Tuesday with a well earned 1-1 tie, allow- ing only five shots on net. Thomas Stokes notched the lone Raiders goal off a nice pass from Dan Walinga. In Brampton , the Fitzwhiskeys still suffering from the flu, never really got on track.
