WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1997 Downes seeks Reform Party nomination Georgetown businessman Clay Downes has announced his intention to run for the candidacy of the Reform Party in Halton. Downes, owner of Geor- getown Quik-Lube-Krown Rustproofing, and wife Nancy have resided in Geor- getown with their three chil- dren for over 12 years, hav- ing served three terms as the elected president of the Halton-Peel Reform Party. "] believe that all people should be equal before the law and without prejudice. I believe in the sanctity of the family. A veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Downes served with the Queen's Own Rifles in NATO Forces in Germany from 1960 to 1963.
