Orangeville 1 Raiders lose final two games and coach-GM BY TERRY ROUSE If Rick had another year or The Georgetown Gemini The Georgetown Raiders put an end to what has been a disappointing season by dropping their final two games 7-2 to Burlington, and 10-1 to St. Michaels' at home. They then turned around Monday and relieved Rick Bince of his duties as coach an General Manager. "It is probably unfair to think someone can correct all our problems in one year. two I feel he could have turned the team around," said team President Finn Poulstrup The executive committee didn't feel the same way. "We thought at the begin- ning of the year the playoffs were a realistic goal, unfor- tunately with the record we had the coach was forced to take the fall," added Poulstrup. See BINCE, Page 15 Raiders give Bouskill shirt off their backs BY JAMIE HARRISON The Georgetown Gemini The most popular Georgetown Raider captain ever to wear the uniform was repatriated with his teammates Saturday, if only briefly. David "Duke" Bouskill became the first Georgetown Raider to have his number and jersey retired by the team just prior to the team's final swing of the year, a match against the St. Michael's Buzzers. Team president Finn Poulstrup publicly praised Bouskill, not only for the manner in which he played the game, but for the way he conducted himself off the ice as well. "Duke took the time to speak to and sign autographs for minor hockey players," Poulstrup said, adding that he wished Bouskill luck in his playoff run with the Brampton Capitals, the club he was traded to in December. Bouskill thanked the crowd, saying their support had made his whole playing career enjoyable. Prior to the ceremonies, Bouskill, who will be going to training camp with a semi-professional team in Texas next year, said that he found it ironic that the ceremony would happen in front of referee Ralph Sparks and the St. Michael's Buzzers; a referee and a team that Bouskill has had numerous run-ins with. Sparks, officiating his last regular season game in the Ontario Hockey Association, was also honoured for his years in the game. Unfortunately it was the only Raider goal as the team wrapped up the sea- son with a 10-1 loss to St. Mike's. Prior to the game, former Raider captain David 'Duke' Bouskill had his sweater retired, mak- ing him the first player in the team's 70 year history to have such an honour be- stowed upon him.
