The Burlington resident has accepted a new position as Chief Administrator/Clerk of the Township of Severn after seven years with Haiton Hills. "We'll miss her," the mayor said. "She has done a fantastic job, was a committed professional, and I'm personally disap- pointea she's going, but ! understand the Town clerk resigns reasons for a career move." Stewart, in a letter to the mayor announc- ing her resignation, noted she would be seven years with the Town on Sept. 11 ana her time here has been both exciting and rewarding in a great organization. However, she saw her new position as an exciting opportunity. The letter of resignation will be brought to council Aug. 4. Meanwhile, the clerk will start her vacation period on Tuesday, Aug. 18 and it will expire on her resignation date. '98 Camry CE > Or Get 3.8% "ing on the south side of. Town and residents meet By ANGELA TYLER The New Tanner As promised, Town staff and councillor Norm Elliott met with local residents in Kingham late Thursday af- ternoon to respond to their traffic concerns. As reported in The New Tanner, Kingham resident Steve Grasby is worried that * children playing in the area may be hurt by vehicles tray- elling too fast or parked cars creating blind spots for other drivers. Mr. Grasby's original let- ter to the Town of Halton Hills addressed five issues and since then the Town has followed through with traf- fic pattern studies and radar surveys. Thursday's meeting ea O O Da be a Kingham Road, between Greenore Crescent to just below Campbell Court has been a hot topic for residents and council. Excessive - amounts of vehicles use this stretch of road to park which makes it difficult for two ve- hicle pass each other espe- cially if one of them were a commercial vehicle such as a truck or bus. Another concern is chil- dren playing in the area and traffic not being able to see them properly as a result of the parking. The parking is- sue was also addressed in 1990 with a suggestion of parking 'bays' for cars to park on the south side. These bays would have created 21 spots in the boulevard. Un- fortunately the idea did not materialize as the cost was estimated at $25,000. Town of Halton Hills Traffic Co-ordinator, Bob Butrym, said, "The last time I was here at night, there were 32 scars parked in this stretch." (referring to area between Greenore Crescent and Campbell Court).
