Montclair captures Halton championship Oakville's Montclair school captured the Halton flag foot- ball championship on Friday at McKenzie-Smith Bennett. Eighty students played on four co-ed teams including the MSB Mustangs, Montclair, Centennial and Stewarttown. At the end of round robin play,- three teams, including MSB, were tied for first place with two wins and one loss each. MSB was bumped when the points for and against were tal- lied. Centennial and Montclair went to the final, which Montclair.won. MSB teacher and coach Steve Morrison, who started the inter-school championship three years ago, said the educa- tion labour dispute hurt this year's participation. "There were eight interested teams but then we went on that little teachers' protest, work-to-rule type thing when we came back only four (schools) were going to do it this late in the year, so we kind of shot ourselves in the foot there," Morrison said in an interview on Monday. . Morrison said he was impressed with the 15 Mustang cheerleaders and Mike Johnston's Grade 7 class, which acted as ambassadors and scorekeepers.
