"The win was really phenomenal and we really played like a team and it was great to get everybody out. After that game some of the kids from the Glen took us on and we played a couple of innings and they beat us bad, but even that was okay because we actually won against the Glen's team." Good sports that they are, the Glen team told The New Tanner they would not call for post-game testing of the winners. em --- awn m mone ewrn | 2 kf 8 ee oe | Dug fart FOR BUCKS: It was strikes, spares and misses for McKenzie-Smith Bennett Kindergarten BOWLING bowler Christian Osbourne, 6, as she bowled her school's bowl-a-thon at Acton Bowling Lanes. "We were in the wrong tournament," Gibson ex- plained when asked about the three overwhelming wins. "We're a real good "C" team and unfortunately, all the other teams were weak "D" teams, so we have to be care- ful that we don't make too big a deal about this tournament and not be ready for some tough teams in league play." Gibson said there's also a chance the mismatched win could hurt the team in its placements for the provincial finals if they are judged to be better than they really are on the strength-of the Midland tournament wins. Kyle MacDonald had three goals as the Bulldogs downed Huntsville 12-1 in the first game of that tournament. Both Mitch Thompson and Matt Laidlaw had doubles. Singles went to Brett Maltby, Reid Hall, Kevin Deforest and Tim Laidlaw. In their second game the Bulldogs defeated Midland 12-3. Braden Artem and Matt Laidlaw both scored twice while MacDonald, Thompson, Hall, Deforest, Garrett Williams and Tim Laidlaw had singles. The Bulldogs met Mississauga in the final and walked away witha 12-1 win. Tim Laidlaw, Justin Gibson and Brendan Devine all had doubles. Singles went to Thompson, Hall, Reid, MacDonald, Matt Laidlaw and Artem. The Bulldogs continued played this week with games on Monday and Wednesday (yesterday) and provincial play begins in early August.
