By ANGELA TYLER The New Tanner While some wives and moms may be at home on weekends tending to stere- otypical female tasks, Acton's Tiina Duncanson is breaking tradition. Almost every week- end from now until Novem- ber Tiina can be found drag racing snowmobiles. Around three years ago, while attending a snowmobile race in the United States, Tiina, according to her hus- READY TO RACE: Acton's Tiina Duncanson band Peter Duncanson, de- cided "Come hell or high wa- ter, she was going to race (snowmobiles)." Tiina and Peter both admit that it can be difficult, as she is the only female racer in her open modified division. She compares it to a top fuel divi- sion for cars. However, Tiina seems to be handling her division quite well. This past year after rac- ing throughout Canada and the United States, she claimed the Ontario Open Modified shows off her snowmobile she uses in races through the summer and fall recently at the Acton Agricul- tural Society's Show and Shine.
