Gordie McKeon, Colton Burgan and Tyler McNabb had singles. Creasey, Ellis Lavallee and Matt Murray had assists. No schedule or op- ponent has been announced for the OHMA playoffs. Acton edged Erin/ Hillsburgh 2-1 on Saturday in Acton to put the team in third place in round robin Tri- County playoffs. Creasey, McNabb and Patrick O'Connell had singles. Heartbreak for Bantams after stirring comeback By Jim Monaghan It was a roller coaster ride this week for the Acton Ma- or Bantam team as they went rom the comeback kids to the heartbreak kids. Down 2-0 in their best-of- 'ive quarter final OMHA slayoffs with Midland, the Tanners played magnificently 0 force a sixth game before 'inally succumbing. On Wednesday in Acton he local boys started their 'ally by clobbering Midland +-1. Steve Atkinson. Peter Glatt. Shane Drexler and Tyler Chapman were Acton's narksmen while Mike MacDonald, Adam Mills and Slatt had helpers. Game four was Friday right in Midland, where the [anners, thanks in large part o the heroics of goalie Max Schaefer, eked out a 2-2 over- ime sister kisser. The Tanners came back to Acton on Saturday and once again were inspired by home ice to beat Midland 4-0. Goalie Schaefer was one of the main reasons with a shutout per- formance. Teammates Andrew Pembleton. MacDonald, Brouillard and Chapman were able to find the twine behind Midland's goalie. Helping to set up those markers were Lyons, Atkinson, Field, MacDonald and Brouillard. That victory set the stage for game six in Midland on Sunday. However, our "come- back kids" fell short 7-5 de- spite a tremendous third pe- riod rally where they almost overcame a 6-2 disadvantage. Acton Villa blanked The top of the table clash with Milton's Waltzin' Wea- sel started bright for Villa who were awarded a penalty kick early in the first half. Unfor- tunately the resulting spot kick was expertly saved by the Milton "keeper" and Villa were unable to press home their advantage. Villa was blanked 4-0. Villa finished the half the stronger of the two teams ina scoreless first half. Despite many chances, Villa was un- able to break down the Mil- ton keeper who was out- standing in net. The second half opened with Villa pressing for goal and was unfortunate not to be ahead after Lewis hit a post. Weasel countered and scored two quick goals against the run of play.
