Before the six months is up, Blue Circle must reconstruct 22 Side Road -- removing knolls near the crossing and install permanent traffic sig- nals--and provide Halton with a letter of credit equalling the value of the works. Once the work on 22 Side Road is done. Halton Region is prepared to negotiate with Blue Circle for an agreement to cross the road for an extended period of time. Suspended learners A proposed safety pro- gram for so-called suspended learners -- students sus- pended from school for disci- pline or behavioural problems -- will be debated during budget talks at the Halton District School Board. At present, there's no pro- gram for Halton students sus- pended for more than six days whose behaviour poses a risk to themselves or others. This program would offer anger management and problem solving skills to help the stu- dents rejoin a regular class without missing a lot of work. Shortly after 8 a.m. the lot was full and volunteers were scrambling to accommo- date some vendors who showed up late, waiting for the weather to clear. Not only were the Trunk Sale volunteers pleased with the turnout, so were the ven- dors. "Most vendors I talked to were pleased with the turn- out and the sales," said Kuiken. "Tt was good to see familiar _ faces of returning vendors and some new ones as well." Trunk Sale shoppers had lots of variety to choose from. Over 70 vendors sold every- thing from plants, baked goods, antique farm tools, garage sale type items, to toys.
