"T spent 23 years serving our country in the military -- on land sea and in the air," Burke says. "Now I want to serve the people of Wellington-Halton Hills as their Member of Par- liament." Wellington-Halton Hills is a new riding created by the re- distribution of electoral boundaries because of popula- tion changes. Born in England, Burke came to Canada with his par- ents in 1966 and grew up in Saskatchewan. He joined the Canadian Forces in 1977 and served as a naval officer and air navigator as well as doing sev- eral peacekeeping missions in the Middle East through the 1980s. He earned his pilot's wings at CFB Moose Jaw in 1992. Since returning to civil- ian life in 2000, he has become an Air Canada pilot. Saying the Liberals' "free ride is over", Burke is enthusi- astic about the next election because voters have a chance to elect a new MP from a new party~that draws on the strengths of both the Progres- sive Conservative and Canadian Alliance Parties. Burke believes that action is required to clean up the waste ee g Bsi8806/7 ras: , : = é ) RadioShack, S Tyler Property & Management Ltd. DEALER 373 Queen Street East, Acton. "I believe these characteristics will also make me a good MP for Wel- lington-Halton Hills." Burke has a science degree from the University of Regina. He and his wife Trish, have three children.
