a RSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2004 ee NEW TANNER Lenten series starts Wednesday Next Wednesday, Febru- ary 25 is Ash Wednesday, the day marking the first day of Lent, the 40 week days ob- served in most Christian churches as a time for fast- ing and penance before Easter. The Acton Ministerial Asso- ciation is again observing the season of Lent with services each Wednesday at 12 noon, followed by a luncheon. The service is moved each year to a different denomination. This year's services are be- ing held at St. Joseph's Church and the luncheon will follow in the church hall. Each church, in turn, provides the lunch at the host church. St. Joseph's Church is lo- cated at the corner of Church and John streets in Acton.
