A 17-lot subdivision, owned by Thomasfield Homes of Guelph, will be built on a 51-hectare prop- erty that fronts on the Halton Hills-Erin Town Line and Line. Council expanded the hamlet boundary to allow the subdivision that includes two protected woodlots anda wetland. The original plan called for 72 lots and the reduction to 17 resolved many issues raised by the pubic and com- menting agencies, including traffic safety and impacts on local wells, groundwater and Johnstone, Rumley, Shoemaker and MacKinnon ...a tradition of service to the community since 1885 MacKinnon Family Funeral Home "Shoemaker Chapel" 55 Mill Street East, Acton, Acton family owned and operated by Margaret and Bob MacKinnon 519-853-0350 the Eramosa-Erin Town | gognnz Galeria cordless wetlands. Paul is well known to many of you and has been working with Bob and Margaret ever since they returned the funeral home to family ownership in October of 1999. In addition to his calling as a funeral director, his talents for renovating and decorating have been instrumental in returning the funeral home to its former glory. Bob Duby, Funeral Director Bob received his Funeral Director's license in 1963 after serving his apprenticeship with Bruce and Rhoda Shoemaker. He credits Bruce and Rhoda Shoemaker with instilling key business values. Through Bruce he developed strong beliefs in providing the best service possible to customers, the importance of integrity and treating everyone with respect. It is interesting to note that Bob Duby and Bob MacKinnon both entered the funeral service education program at the same time, a little more than 40 years ago. Bob Duby was born and raised in Acton and his family is well known in the area. His father, Alf Duby was the town Superintendent and later, when he retired, he often helped Bruce and Rhoda at the Shoemaker Funeral Home. Sherry McNabb, Receptionist Sherry is also a long-time resident of Acton and is well-known to this community having worked 30 years with our local Bank of Montreal. She is the friendly face who greets you at the front door and most often calls you by name (or sweetheart) whenever you have occasion to visit at the funeral home.
