Monitoring of catch basins has indicated that Mosquito larvae are present. Larvicide will be applied by a licensed applicator contracted by the Region. Larvicide will be used to control mosquito larvae in order to reduce the incidence of West Nile virus in, Halton. A pellet and/or briquet formula of the larvicide Methoprene, Altocid (registration number 21809 for pellet formula, 27694 for briquet) will be placed in catch basins on public lands in urban areas of Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton.
