Regional Council has approved funds to be dis- tributed thrqugh a financial assistance program called Dental Care Counts to re- duce the cost to adults with special needs and the frail elderly. He fell approximately 12 metres (13 yards) onto the rocks below sustaining multiple fractures to his vertebrae as well as a frac- tured pelvis and heel. Emergency personnel took two hours to lift him 20 metres up the cliff face in a basket. He was airlifted to Ham- ilton General Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery. Staff Sergeant Robert Waller of Halton Police en- courages climbers at this popular location to ensure they: are wearing all the proper safety equipment as well as a safety helmet, a cellular phone and use the buddy system. Saturday's victim was wearing proper equipment and a helmet which police credit with 'perhaps saving his life."
