Alder The June Meeting of Dublin Women's Institute was held at the R.R. 1, Sixth Line, Acton home of Edna Nellis. Roll Call -- "What pleases or annoys you about our Branch Meetings' was answered by 12 members. Maisie Lasby, District Director, gave a report on the final Annual Meeting of Halton District held on May 24 at Country Heritage Park, and reminded every- one of the upcoming first Annual meeting of the newly-formed Wellington/ Halton District tq be held at Rockmosa on Jun 29, 2004. Jane Baynton gave a re- port on the F.W.1.O. Convention recently held at Durham College in Oshawa. The next FWIO Convention will be held in London, Ontario in 2006 and the theme will be 'To- gether Everyone Achieves More' --- TEAM. Jeanie Kidd expressed her thanks for the beautiful hanging basket she had re- ceived on the occasion of her 80" birthday. In line with the theme for our meetings, Jane Baynton gave a very interesting talk on the history of the Erland Lee Homestead and its place in the formation of the Women" Institute. As is our custom, our regular July meeting is re- placed with a social evening, and plans were made for dinner and thea- tre on July 15. We look forward to as many mem- bers as possible attending. Lunch was served by our hostess, Edna Nellis, as- sisted by Chris McMillan. Courtesies were given by Sharon Anderson. New riding mower stolen on Sometime between 5:30 and 10:30 pm on Wednesday, June 30, an unknown suspect stole a brand new John Deere riding lawn mower from the side of a residence located on Wellington County Road 22 in Erin (twp.). The mower SR 22 was just delivered on Mon- day and is worth $2,600. The Branch mourns the passing of our comrade Bill Taylor. A 40-year member of Branch 197, Bill was an active member for most of those years. He truly exem- plified the term service, and was always ready when _ there was work to be done around the Branch. A legion tribute was held a the Blue Springs Funeral home on July 1. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Joan and her family at this dis- tressing time. "At the going down of the Sun and in the morning We will remember them." Maintenance Chairman Larry McAfee expresses his sincere thanks to Shawn and Ron of Ron's Mobile Wash, also to Lyle Preuter, Keith and Dave Andrews for their splendid work in spricing up our airplane.
