Estate, said the owners, including major partners Jack Tothe of Acton and Bob Monckton of Geor- getown, decided to sell earlier this summer after owning the property for at least two decades. Town Council approved a rezoning on the agricul- tural land in 2002 to allow the golf course, clubhouse and maintenance build- ing, but a site plan would be required before devel- opment could occur. Only 160 of the acres of the site, which reaches halfway to 32.Side.Road,-are-devel--- opable because of environmentally sensitive areas on the property. Prior to approval, some neighbours raised con- cerns about the possible impact on their wells, lo- cal roads and on the agricultural character of their area, but Town coun- cillors praised the project for its economic benefits, including a projected 100 jobs. Asked who might be in the market for land ap- proved for a golf course, Wilson said although it is outside of the Acton urban boundary, there is pres- sure for growth and the land could have "future residential" possibilities.
