Old school thinking from years ago will not cause a brighter future to happen, only increases in taxes and much less quality of life. We do have choices so let's select the right path and not just gamble. With many others, I attended the "Places to Grow" session in Hamilton and felt (as many oth- ers did too) that an agenda has already been formed and we (the electorate) are just being toyed with... again. | asked this simple question of David Caplan, Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal. "What would a simple phrase be to best define the overall thrust of this 'places to grow' . initiative, would the wording be, to cause, to curb or to con- trol growth"? Mr Caplan's answer was, "to direct growth." This really frightens me! If we are truly serious about grooming our path to our future, "the best thing would be for us to combine a strategy of limit- ing sprawl, reducing population growth and increasing invest- ment in infrastructure-leaving out any one of these elements will be disastrous." Why are we being asked to speak, but not being heard? Robert A. (Bob) Beyette RR#3 Campbellville.
