Saturday morning at 9:34 a.m. an alarm was activated at 8 Commerce Crescent when a contractor from Appleby Systems was welding a bracket to the HVAC system onto the building. Smoke from the welding proc- ess got into the building and accidentally activated the alarm system. Dangerous medicine An Acton resident reported he lost 21 tablets of prescrip- tion medication on August | between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. The 80 mg. tablets were in a container with a name on it. Thieves foiled at Ballinafad Halton Regional Police, assisted by Wellington OPP, are still investigating an overnight attempted break- in that occurred in the early morning hours at the Ballinafad Farm Market on Thursday, July 29. The owners of the market were awakened by the sounds of an attempted break-in at their store by two males at 4:48 a.m. The mar- ket is located on Trafalgar just south of Ballinafad, The pair failed to gain en- 853-0024 try to the business and fled ina stolen 1990 Acura Inte- gra which was seen leaving the scene northbound on Trafalgar, police said. It was later abandoned and located by police who discovered a gun in the car's rear seat. At approximately 7:45 a.m. a 1998 Ford Windstar was stolen from a Sixth Line, Erin address and a short.time later abandoned a short distance south of the Sixth Line. Investigators be- lieve that the suspects in the Ballinafad attempted break- in may have been responsi- ble for this car theft as well. The one suspect is de- scribed as being male white, 18-21 years, thin build, short brown hear, wearing blue jeans with a black hooded sweatshirt. The second sus- pect has no known description.
