Off the Wall and Open Door Youth Resource Centres are places where youth can come to individuate, socialize and feel independent. The youth are diverse in their needs, family structure and backgrounds. Qualified youth workers who run the program, teach and support youth to achieve a posi- tive lifestyle by developing strategies to deal with life's challenges and to respect themselves and others. The youth the Youth Re- source Centre as "their" place to go to in their community where they can "hang out" and get support when they need it. Through the years that the Youth Resource Centres have been open in Georgetown and Acton, many youths have TIP OFF: MSB Mustangs' Kyle Bulstrode (13) stretches returned to tell us about their © successes in life and how the youth workers and the Youth Resource Centres were influ- ential in their successes. Mayor Bonnette recognized the importance of supporting Youth Resource Centres in Halton Hills when he held his outstandingly successful Mayor's Lunch for Youth on January 28. We thank him for his generosity, vision and recognition of the importance of youth. At his lunch, Mayor Bonnette quoted Franklin D Roosevelt: "We cannot al- ways build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." We are grateful that our Mayor acts on such a mes- sage.
