Police here for the community As you may have noticed the Halton Regional Police Service has made some changes in this new year. One change is in your 1 District Community Support Officer. In this position it is my duty to provide police information and crime prevention tips to the community of Halton Hills with regards to your community concerns. I look forward to continuing the strong relationships my predecessors have built, as well as to build and improve upon other relationships within our community. These relationships and partnerships will focus efforts towards a safer community. Other changes within my position include an increased geographic responsibility which will spread my `crime prevention' duties across Halton Hills, Nassagaweya Township, as well as the Town of Milton. Crime prevention officers, like myself, and village constables, as well as the uniformed officers who patrol our streets, work together towards a fully integrated police team which is part of a community-based police model recognized and practised by police departments around the world. By dialing 905-825-4747 you can 911/ 411 Const. Chris Borak access the Halton Regional Police Service Automated Attendant System. Through this system you can listen to pre-recorded information on several matters, or you can request that a police officer attend your location for a non-emergency report or situation. You can contact me personally for crime prevention tips, or information regarding community concerns through 905-825-4747 extension 2470, or by emailing chris.borak@hrps.on.ca. Of course, if you require immediate police assistance for an emergency please dial 911. --Const. Chris Borak is the community support officer for 1 District 905-873-2441
