GLT play opens tomorrow Georgetown Little Theatre's upcoming show The Dining Room opens Thursday at John Elliott Theatre and features a series of vignettes based around the dining room table. During one (seen above), children (from left) Brewster (John Day), Billy (Rishi Bandhu), Sandra (Linda Leask) and Winkie (Ro Palumbo-Coates) are excited at Winkie's birthday party while Ted and Peggy (Kevin Liley and Jill Mulholland) discover other ways to enjoy each others' company as the children are distracted and their spouses are not around. The Dining Room is a play by A.R. Gurney, directed by Sue Tolley. It is part drama, part satire and part comedy. It takes place in many dining rooms, from 1930 to the present. The vignettes are presented, in no discernible order, as miniature one-acts with each seeking to paint a picture of New England life. During the performances you will see 18-vignettes with 49 characters from six actors. These cast members must change characters approximately a dozen times; one minute being a seven-year-old child at a birthday party and the next, an aging grandfather. The show runs Feb. 9-22 and Feb. 15-18. For tickets call the Box Office, 905-877-3700. Photo by Ted Brown
