Wieck, a power on the Bearcats senior volleyball team, was chosen for being recognized MVP at the recent Welland tourney. Ramsay, a shooting guard on the Bearcats junior basketball team was selected for his leadership and team play at the North bay tournament. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Kelly Haines and Mitch Thompson. Haines, a right side on the senior Rebels volleyball team was recognized for her passing and team play against Milton District last week. Thompson, a shooting guard on the Rebels senior basketball team was cited for triggering a comeback at the Refs Tourney in Hamilton, as well as scoring 5 points in the game. Christ the King High School Athletes of the Week is Kelly Laidlaw and, a right side on the Jaguars junior volleyball team was credited for her good serving and passing in a win against AHS.
