Town officials visit problem areas on annual Rural Tour Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette, Regional Councillor (Wards 1&2) Clark Somerville, Councillors Joan Robson and Bryan Lewis were joined by Town CAO Dennis Perlin on the fourth Rural Tour March 10, traveling rural roads and observing "troublesome" areas. The 117-km tour enabled Bonnette, Somerville, Robson, Lewis and Perlin to travel the perimeter roads of Halton Hills, along with side-trips into areas of concern that have been raised by rural area residents. Bonnette said, "Tours of this nature enable those representing the rural areas to be `hands on' to the issues the rural residents raise." Calls were made to Town staff during the trip to have them address immediate needs. "You can appreciate the concerns that rural residents are experiencing during tours such as this," said Lewis. "The month of March will be a busy one as we will be meeting with the Glen Williams Committee Association (GWCA) and the Hornby Area Rate Payers (HARP) on March 27 and 29 respectively," added Robson. Rural residential and farming concerns were observed during the tour with Bonnette calling the second Agricultural Community Meeting on March 28 at 7 p.m. at Pineview Public School.
