Glen Williams Songwriter's Concert scheduled for April 8 The Source of the Song 6 Songwriter's Concert on Saturday, April 8, from 2-5 p.m. at the Glen Williams Town Hall may have a definite "country" vibe as Canadian country music star John Landry, singer/songwriter Rich Baker (a longtime co-writer with Landry), and poprock songwriter/artist Linda M will be the special guests joining host songwriter Bruce Madole. If the performances and between-song banter also begins to take on a tiny trace of an "artistic collaboration" theme, it could be entirely natural. This will be the first occasion in the concert series in which more than one of the co-writers of a hit song will be present. The Landry and Baker writing team was responsible for some of the most-played country songs in 2000 and 2001, including such hits as There You Were, Bit by Bit, Long Gone and Forgotten, and My Heart Says Yes (But the Hurt says No). Linda M is known to some for her musical contributions to the television show Dawson's Creek, and is a founder and host of the women's songwriter's round Girls With Guitars, featuring some of the hottest female songwriters from across North America. Tickets for the event are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available at Studio 7, the Williams Mill Visual Arts Studios, 515 Main Street in Glen Williams (directions at www.williamsmill.com, or from Best's Harbour, 523 Main Street (directions at www.bestsharbour.com ).
