The 17-year-old Putnam shot two rounds of 73 to take top spot in the individual low gross category and helped the five-member Team CJGA to victory in the overall scoring, edging Humber College by three strokes. The event included some of the top Ontario college and university teams, including McMaster, U of T and Waterloo. "I got off to a rough start, but I went three under on my last five holes, which helped," said the Grade 12 Georgetown District High School student. The CJGA also held a Nike Golf Junior Series tour event at the Forest City National Golf Club in London and Georgetown's Ryan Thomson finished in a tie for seventh in the boys' 14-16 age group. Thomson shot rounds of 84 and 77 to finish 12 strokes back of the winner, Brett Cairns of Courtland, Ont. Danny Duplantis of Georgetown placed in a tie for 20th spot with scores of 82 and 88.
