Team Cedar Griilling cooks up third-place finish in BBQ competition Team Cedar Grilling tuned up for the Canadian Open Barbecue Championships in Barrie by placing third in the latest segment of the Ontario Barbecue Championships recently in Paris, Ontario. Team Cedar, which is based out of Ballinafad and includes members Stephen Adams, Marty Soberg, Daryl Maybanks and Scott Cormier, placed second in the ribs competition at Paris and was fourth in both the chicken and pork shoulder categories. The final segment in the Ontario championships will take place in St. Catharines on September 23 with the overall winner in the Ontario series representing Ontario at the Jack Daniels Invitational BBQ Championships in October. Team Cedar Grilling's next competition is the Canadian Open Barbeque Championship in Barrie, August 4-6. The local team were recently the guests of Murray Lloyd on the barbeque show Q Scene BBQ TV. The show will have a second part added when the Q Scene film crew go to the Canadian Open Championships in Barrie in August to film Team Cedar Grilling in the heat of battle during Canada's fiercest barbecue competition.
