Four students from Christ the King High School in Georgetown have collected thousands of twist-ties with the goal of making a chain long enough to gain entry into the Guinness Book of World Records. (From left) Matt Van Kessel, Philip Pawlega, Michael Fargiorgio and Keith Van Kessel have already linked together about 1,300 feet worth of the ties. Photo by Eamonn Maher Students fit to be (twist)-tied EAMONN MAHER Staff Writer Four Grade 9 students from Christ the King Catholic Secondary School will be tied up in a project this summer that they hope will eventually land them in the Guinness Book of World Records. Over the past few weeks, the students have been collecting twist-ties that you'd find with garbage bags or at supermarkets and their linked-together coil, wrapped up like a garden hose, measured some 1,300 feet this week. "We've still got a long way to go, but we're hoping for any donations because twist-ties are actually pretty hard to get your hands on," said Georgetown South resident Michael Fargiorgio.
