Free theatre in Glen Park GlenStar Camp for the Performing Arts entertained a live audience at the Glen Williams Park Gazebo last Friday night (July 14). The actors, ranging from ages 10 to 15, took part in a two-week session of camp at the historic Glen Williams Town Hall, which included a trip to the Stratford Festival, special guest appearances and a final performance for parents and members of the community at the park's gazebo. The play, Wildwood, is a fictional tale of flora, fauna and immortals who leave their enchanted woodland in search of a better place, only to discover that true happiness can be found in one's own backyard. GlenStar's program combines theatre workshops, music and dance and was created by experienced local teachers. "I couldn't have asked for a more enthusiastic and more dedicated group of campers," says Amy Kelleher, Camp Director. "They have made us proud to call Halton Hills our home." Second session began last week and the young actors will be gearing up for their final performance on Friday, July 28. Showtime is 7 p.m. at the Glen Williams Park gazebo. Members of the GlenStar Camp for the Performing Arts take a bow after their performance of Wildwood in the Glen Park recently. Another cast will perform the free show on Friday.
