Moooove over, Tiger One of the contests in the third-annual Norval United Church Tournament held recently at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club was a "closest-to-the-cow" competition. Tourney participant Dave Dunlop came up a little short in this attempt, but he and golf partners (from left) Shaun Dunlop, Marg Jones and Helen McCormack were pleased to find out that about $11,000 was raised for the Bill Laidlaw Memorial Fund. In its three years, the tournament has raised more than $30,000 for youth programs and development within the Georgetown community and at Norval United Church. Photo by Eamonn Maher Police blotter Brampton teenagers facing charges Halton Police were called to Irwin Cr. early Monday because an area resident had noticed three people using a flashlight to look into a neighbour's car. When police arrived a short time later they found a girl sleeping in the passenger seat of another car, a 1998 Mercury Topaz, which had been reported stolen earlier to Peel Police. They also found another female and male in the area. The male falsely identified himself to police. Charged with possession of property obtained by crime are Charlotte McGuinness, 18, of Candlewood Ct., Brampton, and two youths who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act-- a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female. The male is also charged with obstruct police. ··· A stereo and two duffle bags full of clothes were taken from a vehicle parked at a Main St. Acton home sometime late Sunday or early Monday. The stolen items are valued at $450. ··· Police are investigating a break and enter into an Elgin St., Acton apartment last Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. in which $1,800 in cash was taken. Entry was gained through an insecure door. ··· A 1994 Honda valued at $2,000 was taken from the driveway at an Elmore Dr. home late last Wednesday or early Thursday.
