Lapointe, a North Halton member, combined with Steinberg for five birdies on the day in the team format to win by two strokes at five-under-par 67. North Halton's Gloria Sinclair paired up with Jeanne Beaith of Port Hope to finish in a tie for fourth spot at 73, along with Georgetown's Julie Green and Lynne Owen of Mississauga. Lapointe shot rounds of 76 and 79 at last week's LPGA CN Canadian Tour event at the London Hunt Club and missed making the 36-hole cut by three shots. "When you make four double bogeys in two rounds, it's going to catch up to you," she said. "I played well enough, but I just couldn't make the shots when I really needed them."
